With the end of one era comes the beginning of a new one. From lace veils for the Catholic Church to well-fitting lingerie made for and by women - Spanish brand Andres Sarda has always managed to keep its finger on the pulse and over the past 60 years, the revolutionary brand has continuously evolved with the times and been at the forefront of the lingerie scene in the fight to break norms with playful designs. And now the brand is once again facing a rebirth as Andres Sarda becomes SARDA.
“Sarda is Bold. Unexpected. Wearable and for the woman who wants it all” – this is what head designer Nuria Sarda says about the brand's new direction when we meet her in Paris to see the first SARDA collection, which is the culmination of two years of work, where nothing is left to chance.
But despite the rebranding and new design direction, the brand's DNA will continue to be an important part of the upcoming SARDA collections, just as Nuria and the design team's ability to create surprising and edgy designs will still be an important cornerstone of the new SARDA designs. The extensive know-how, refined since 1962, and the idea of making lingerie that makes women feel good, are still the brand's north star.
"For the rebranding, we thought that it would be best to go back to our roots - the essence and the DNA is still going to be the same, because when a brand stays for 60 years it clearly shows that the brand has a strong DNA and that it's able to evolve with the time and society. That is what we are doing now again with the SARDA launch. So, the essence and core are the same, but juts translated into a more modern and up to date version" , says Nuria.
Several of the brand's new styles also draw inspiration from previous Andres Sarda series, which have been reinterpreted with a contemporary twist.
Sarda takes you from desk to dinner, from party to pilates and from morning chill to midnight music festival. The cherry on the cake? Sarda's rule-breaking designs come with a dedication to quality, supersoft fabrics and a kick-ass, no-nonsense vibe.
Sarda, unapologetically you.
The cool Avit series offers, among other things, this bra without underwire or padding with graphic cuts. The series plays with contrasts and transparent elements and also has references to Andres Sarda's previous swimwear series Kathryn. The bra is available from size XS-XL and there are several different panties in the series. There is also a bra with underwire and a bra with padded cups.

For hardcore Andres Sarda fans, the Bremer series will likely bring back fond memories, as it is heavily inspired by the previously popular Michelangelo series with the same cool color-block elements and contrasting lace. In the Bremer series you can find this bra without underwire, as well as a bra with underwire and one with padding. As always, there are several different panties to match.

The beautiful Shavonne series is a reinterpreted version of a previous series from the 80s and both the lace and the clasps have now been produced in the same factory that also produced these for the original series from the 80s. Here you can see the bra of the series without underwire or padding, but made of a beautiful and stretchy lace. The fine blue-violet color is typical of (Andres)SARDA's preferred color palette and has also been seen in previous series.

The Rincon series plays with the contrast between sporty and sexy, because as the SARDA team says, they don't believe in "either or", but would much rather go with "and" because why shouldn't lingerie be both sporty and sexy? The Rincon series offers both this non-wired bra, a bra with wires and a bodystocking, all in the edgy color Influencer Pink.

The Tau series is inspired by the iconic 90s series, Jacky. “ Tau is all about clean cuts – a basic but not that basic. The clean cut is special and it has no elastics, so it is all about the shape and the fit. It is for the woman who doesn't want to compromise on either looks or comfort”, says Nuria. The series is available in both black and the color Red Copper, and we have both a bra with underwire and padding, a bra without and a bodystocking.

All the series are made with the classic SARDA woman in mind, as chief designer Nuria describes:
"She is the one who wants it all. She is easy going, no hustle, she wants everything, and she wants it now. She is always on the move, she is empowered, and she likes the unexpected, sexy and bold. She is more a trendsetter, than a trend follower and she doesn't care about what others think, because she has her own path".
We have already received most of the AW24 collection, which you can see here.
So what can we expect from the future of SARDA? According to Nuria, we can expect the brand to continue to evolve with an eye on what the modern woman needs.
"This has been the essence since the day we started the company. It did not change and we still carry the spirit of my father (Andres Sarda, founder of the brand with the same name) with us. He started this company with the vision to create a collection FOR the women rather than for the male gaze. The wish was really to make women feel better and to give them comfortable styles, that made them want to dress for themselves. He was already talking about empowerment, womens felling etc. 60 years ago. We are still carrying this perspective with us and we want to keep this connection and vision forever".

"We don't follow inspiration guides, books or anything like that. For us, it is more about finding our own way and being inspired by what is happening in the world....
